Fuji, Olympus develop 1GB XD Card
FujiFilm and Olympus have jointly developed a 1GB version of their XD Picture Card memory card and plan to put it on sale in the first half of next year.

Avid has announced plans to acquire Midiman, doing business as M-Audio. The deal is valued at $80 million (around £44 million) in cash plus two million shares of Avid common stock and the assumption of all outstanding M-Audio stock options, worth approximately another 325,000 shares of Avid stock.

Fuji S3 Pro details revealed
Fujifilm has released more details about the FinePix S3 Pro digital SLR, the pending replacement for the S2 Pro, and has announced that the camera will be available in October this year. Like the S2 Pro, the S3 is based on the Nikon N80 body, and takes Nikon-fit lenses. Fuji claims that the new CCD offers improved dynamic range, tonal capabilities, colour balance and signal-to-noise ratios.

Fujifilm has announced a raft of new FinePix digital compact cameras, including three cameras in a new consumer-oriented E-series. The other cameras announced were the compact F810 and two SLR-style cameras -- the S5500 and the S3500.
